PC-ACE training module: Backup and Restore

Backup

You will be prompted to perform a backup each time you exit the PC-ACE software program. PC-ACE provides complete database backup and validation to protect your system data. All claims, reference files, and system configuration settings can be backed up to removable media (flash drive or writeable CD-ROM) or a standard Windows directory (i.e., drive, H drive).

It is strongly recommended to keep a recent backup available at all times. This will provide restore capabilities in the event of system failure or other compromise of PC-ACE database files. These backup facilities are designed to protect only the PC-ACE databases and configuration information. The program executable files and other support files are not included in the backup archive.

To complete the backup, select the destination drive or folder then click on start backup. You will be notified upon successful backup completion.

Restore

If you change or upgrade your operating system you will need to reinstall PC-ACE and do a restore. This will ensure that your PC-ACE functions properly after the system change. You may reinstall PC-ACE using the full version download from the PC-ACE upgrade and installation instructions. After installation is complete, restore the backup file by clicking system utilities, the restore tab, and selecting the most recent backup file.
