- SPOT is a free, secure internet-portal offering providers, billing services, and clearinghouses the ability to:
- Verify eligibility such as Medicare secondary payer (MSP), inpatient benefits and hospice election periods
- Retrieve deductible information
- Monitor billing habits and verify claim status
- Review electronic remittance advice (ERA)
- Submit prior authorization, additional development requests (ADR), and redetermination requests
- Medicare Part A DDE User Guide Manual is an ideal resource to assist with billing and technical accuracy for claim submission. The manual provides guidance on how to enter information onto the claim pages associated with the CMS-1450 uniform bill (UB-04) claim form and provides field descriptions of the FISS screens.
- Use our Interactive LCD Index to browse for policies such as national coverage determinations (NCDs), local coverage determinations (LCDs), or billing articles.
- NCCI Procedure-to-Procedure Lookup Tool helps providers identify when certain codes are subject to the automated code pair edits under the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Program.
- CMS launched multiple new prior authorization programs in 2026. Use the Prior Authorization Code Lookup Tool as a validation resource to determine if a code is subject to a prior authorization program.
