CMS inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) provider education webinar: FY 2027 IRF Final Rule updates
CMS will host a national provider education webinar for inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) providers on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. ET.
The webinar will review FY 2027 IRF Prospective Payment System (PPS) final rule policies and related Medicare coverage requirements, including revisions related to:
- The 36-hour requirement
- Initial interdisciplinary team meeting requirements
- Documentation expectations related to these requirements
This webinar is intended to help IRF providers understand finalized rule revisions, support consistent application of Medicare coverage requirements, and reduce the risk of documentation and billing errors.

IRF administrators, rehabilitation physicians, therapy directors, clinicians, compliance staff, billing staff, and other staff involved in IRF coverage, documentation, or billing requirements.
