Part A Medicare Modifiers: Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) Modifiers GA, GX, GY and GZ

The Part A Medicare Modifier series defines commonly used modifiers and demonstrates billing utilization. During this webinar, we will review modifiers GA, GX, GY, or GZ used when an Advance Beneficiary Notice of Non-coverage (ABN), Form CMS-R-131, is issued to the beneficiary in advance of providing services Medicare probably or certainly will not be covered. The ABN communicates potential financial liabilities and appeal rights for the non-covered services. We will review ABN requirements, required or optional scenarios for issuing, and claim submission guidelines.
