The NUBC code sets define certain codes as "payer only codes." If a claim is submitted by the provider and there is a payer only code on the claim, the claim will return to provider (RTP). You should delete that code from the claim and F9 it back in. Payer only codes can be any of the following: condition codes, occurrence codes, occurrence span codes, value codes, type of admission, point of origin, or patient discharge status codes.
