How to register for SPOT

Step 1: Submit new organization form

Organizations must submit a new organization form that designates an approver and is signed by their authorized or delegated official:

Once your new organization form has been approved, choose your role, review the description, and find your instructions.

Approver (for provider offices and third-party agents, i.e., billing services and clearinghouses)
Every organization with SPOT users must have a designated approver who will have full access to SPOT and who:
Has their access granted by the SPOT Help Desk
Will be designated by the organization’s authorized official on the new organization form
Is responsible for creating their organization in EIDM
Is responsible for approving all end user access requests within their organization
Is responsible for certifying end users’ access annually
May also be a SPOT end user
Once you have received an approval communication from the SPOT Help Desk containing your submitter ID and legal business name, you may proceed with these instructions here.
Backup Approver (for provider offices and third-party agents, i.e., billing services and clearinghouses)
While it is not required, it is recommended that organizations designate a backup approver who will have full access to SPOT and who:
Has their access granted by the SPOT Help Desk
Will be designated by the organization’s authorized official on the new organization form
Is able to approve all end user access within their organization
Is able to certify end users’ access annually
May also be a SPOT end user
Your organization should designate you on the new organization form. Once the organization is approved by the SPOT Help Desk and is created in EIDM, you may request access. Click here for your instructions.
New SPOT end user
SPOT users have full access to the Secure Provider Online Tool and:
Their access is granted and managed by a designated approver from their organization
They will register for SPOT after their organization’s designated approver has been approved
If you already have an approver in your organization who has been approved, you can continue with your instructions here.

If you do not have an approver for your organization, the approver must complete their process to create an organization before you as an end user can request access.
