Additional SPOT Profiles FAQ

Q: What is an Additional SPOT Profile, and how does it differ from the EIDM SPOT Application Access Profile? How do I add, access, and manage additional SPOT profiles?
A: When your EIDM SPOT Application Access Profile was approved through the Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) portal, your Default SPOT Profile was automatically created. You also have the option of creating Additional SPOT Profiles
If your organization meets one or more of the following conditions, you may need to create Additional SPOT Profiles:
The practice/facility has multiple physicians and non-physician practitioners who have not reassigned their Medicare benefits and bill Medicare separately.
The practice/facility bills Medicare for Part A and Part B services
The practice/facility bills Medicare for items or services furnished to beneficiaries in more than one geographic location.

2. Accept EIDM Terms and Conditions
3. Log in to SPOT
4. Access the Change/edit/add profiles menu

6. Click the Go button

7. Enter the new Profile nickname for the applicable profile
Note: The Profile nickname can contain only letters, numbers, hyphens, periods, and underscores. The nickname cannot contain spaces or special characters.
8. Click the Submit button. A confirmation page will appear, and a notification email will be sent to the email address in your EIDM account profile. View step-by-step
9. Note: If you wish to change the email address associated with your default billing profile, you must do so through EIDM. ,

Additional SPOT Profiles: Create Profile

An Additional SPOT profile must be requested by the account holder by completing and submitting an Additional profile request form, which may be accessed from the drop-down menu on The SPOT. The request will be reviewed and approved or denied by The SPOT help desk.
Note: Access to Medicare data is based upon how an organization bills Medicare. If an organization bills Medicare as a single entity, access to claim, payment, and analytical data will not be available for individual practitioners unless the practitioner bills Medicare under his or her own personal SSN.
To create an Additional SPOT Profile that will be accessible when you log on to the SPOT, complete the following steps:
2. Click the I Accept button on the EIDM Terms and Conditions page
3. Enter your login information (i.e., User ID and Password), and click the Log In button.
4. The SPOT home page will appear
5. Select Add Profile from the Change/edit/add profiles drop-down menu and click the Go button

6. The Additional billing profile request form will appear:

7. Enter/select the NPI, PTAN, SSN/TIN, line of business, location, practice official information (i.e., first name, last name, and official role), associated with the practitioner. The information entered will be compared to the official enrollment record in Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System (PECOS).
8. Enter a Profile nickname to make the profile easily identifiable from The SPOT drop-down menu.
Note: The Profile nickname can contain only letters, numbers, hyphens, periods, and underscores. The nickname cannot contain spaces or special characters.
9. You may either click the Submit button to initiate your request or if you wish to add another profile, click the Add another profile link to expand the form:
10. Once you have finished adding profiles -- for this session -- click the Submit button, and the confirmation page will display.
Note: You will also receive an email from TheSPOTportal@fcso.com with the subject line: The SPOT Confirmation. The email will be sent to the email associated with your official account for The SPOT.
11. Once your request has been submitted, the Help Desk will review your request and will send you an email with a decision within 5-7 business days.
12. You will receive a separate decision email for each request, and the Profile nickname associated with the request (e.g., Dr._Sherlock_Holmes) will be listed within the body of the email.
If the request has been approved, the subject line of the email will be: The SPOT profile is approved, and the Profile nickname associated with the request (e.g., Dr._Sherlock_Holmes) will be listed within the body of the email.
If the request has been denied, the subject line of the email will be: The SPOT profile rejected, and the email will include the Profile nickname of the profile being rejected as well as the reason for the rejection (e.g., Dr._Irene_Adler -- Invalid Office Official combination). Once a profile has been rejected, you will need to submit a new Add profile request form with the correct information. You may submit Add profile requests at any time.

Additional SPOT Profiles: Switch Profiles

2. Click the I Accept button on the EIDM Terms and Conditions page
3. Enter your login information (i.e., User ID and Password) and click the Log In button.
4. The SPOT home page will appear
5. Access the Change/edit/add profiles menu

6. Select desired profile (e.g., Dr.JohnWatson)
7. Click the Go button
8. The SPOT’s home page will appear and will confirm the change

Additional SPOT Profiles: Remove Profile

If you no longer need a particular Additional SPOT profile, you may remove it:

3. Log in to SPOT
4. Access the Change/edit/add profiles menu
5. Select Edit profile
6. Click the Go button
7. Click the Remove Profile link beneath the profile you wish to delete. You may not remove your default profile.
8. Once you have clicked the Remove Profile link, a dialog box will open and ask you to confirm your decision:

9. If you click the OK button, the profile will be removed immediately and will no longer be available in the drop-down menu on the SPOT. To make further edits to other profiles, select Edit Profile from the drop-down menu.
10. A confirmation page will appear, and a notification email will be sent to the email address in your EIDM account profile.
