Improving visual function and quality of life has increased the demand for cataract surgery. In the CMS 2020 Medicare fee-for-service supplemental improper payment data, ophthalmology services accounted for over $72 million in projected improper payments with an error rate of over 3 percent. Medicare uses a combination of national and local coverage requirements to determine whether certain ophthalmology services are covered.
During this webinar you will learn about:
• Medicare coverage guidelines for vision services
• Cataract extraction coverage indications, limitations, and medical necessity requirements
• Billing, coding, and documentation requirements
• Service-specific reviews for Eylea® (aflibercept)
• Additional resources available to assist you
