The Part A QIC appeals demonstration

Thursday, December 5, 2019

10-11 a.m. ET

Delivery language: English

C2C Innovative Solutions, Inc. (C2C), the Part A East Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC), is holding recorded telephone discussions with providers, on incoming reconsiderations. The provider has the opportunity to discuss the facts of the case and provide any additional documentation that would assist in reaching a favorable determination. This allows providers a valuable opportunity to engage in a telephone discussion with the QIC’s medical reviewer, on incoming reconsiderations, prior to a decision being rendered.
Another component of the demonstration is allowing C2C to conduct reopenings on previously processed unfavorable claims that are currently pending the third level appeal or Administrative Law Judge level at the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) and unfavorable reconsiderations not yet filed to OMHA. The provider has the opportunity to submit documentation for appeals that are pending a hearing at the OMHA to render a fully favorable reopening decision and eliminate the need for the hearing.
During this one-hour webcast, we’ll cover the appeals demonstration process and the benefits of participating in the telephone discussions.
