LCD coverage criteria for drug assays

Tuesday November 19, 2019

10-11:30 a.m. ET

Delivery language: English

Clinical laboratory services continue to have a high error rate under the Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) program, with an error rate of 29.8 percent as reported in the 2018 Medicare Fee-for-Service Supplemental Improper Payment Data Report external pdf file. First Coast Service Options (First Coast) analysis of the CERT error findings reveals a high error rate for qualitative and quantitative drug tests. The targeted probe and educate (TPE) program has also focused on the presumptive drug testing code 80307 and the definitive drug testing codes G0480-G0483. If your practice or facility has been assessed errors for controlled substance monitoring and drugs of abuse testing services, or if you would like to prevent impacts when billing and documenting for these services, then you will want to attend this important event.
Are you ordering or performing controlled substance monitoring for your patients?
Would you like more information about Medicare’s and First Coast’s coverage criteria for these services?
Do you need information about guidelines on supplying or obtaining documentation for these services when being performed by an independent laboratory?
If you've answered yes to these questions, then you can’t afford to miss this free event. During this webcast we will review key points in the LCD L36393 (Controlled Substance Monitoring and Drugs of Abuse Testing) and discuss recent, real-life CERT error feedback provided by the CERT contractor to First Coast.
To register for this event, you must have an account in First Coast University, our learning management system. Learn how to create an account if you don't have one already.
