The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is committed to reducing improper payments in the Medicare program and provider burden at the same time. To accomplish this, CMS has improved the process of reviewing claims and medical record documentation with a new targeted probe and educate (TPE) strategy. This strategy focuses on specific providers/suppliers within a service rather than all providers/suppliers billing a particular service.
Would you like more information about this new TPE strategy to determine how your practice or facility may be impacted? If so, then you’ll want to take advantage of First Coast’s “Targeted probe and educate: Reducing provider burden (A/B)” recorded webinar located on First Coast University. Find the link on the Learning on Demand page under December events.
This free recorded webinar covers the background and purpose of the TPE, how the probe review and education process will work, timeframes for each round of TPE review, and what actions can be taken after TPE. The webinar also provides you with the important resources you need to stay informed about the TPE strategy.
