Q: What are the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) requirements relating to ICD-10-CM certification/credentials?
A: Per AAPC guidelines, from the dates of October 1, 2012-September 30, 2014, all certified AAPC members must take and pass a proficiency examination on ICD-10-CM.
• There will be 75 questions
• It will be open-book, timed, online and un-proctored
• Coders will have two attempts at passing for the $60 administration fee
