Prior to contacting the customer service lines for a status on an appeal, you should wait 60 days after submitting the appeal request. This allows the redetermination department time to receive the medical records, add the information to the database, and to start working on the appeal request.

When contacting the customer service lines, you should have available the following information:
• Claim number
• Dates of service
• National provider identifier (NPI)
• Date the medical records/appeal were submitted
